About

When I was expecting my baby, attending my wonderful Pregnancy Yoga classes became a weekly retreat for me – a place where my mind and my body could pause, feel nourished, strengthened and relaxed, and where I felt supported and in community. I remember ‘hearing’ my yoga teacher’s voice during my labour, guiding me in my breathing.

Then, in her Mum & Baby Yoga classes, I felt my body, my mind and  my emotions being seen and honoured, as my she guided me in my unique recovery and delighted my baby in beautiful movement and song.

A few years later, I was introduced to Dru Yoga and immediately felt at home. Dru Yoga gifted me with a much needed sense of balance by helping me to release tension, stretch and strengthen my then achy body, improve my sleep and reduce my stress levels. Having fallen in love with the grounding and stillness it brought me, its inclusivity, the unique sequences, and its down-to-Earth approach, I decided to become a Dru Yoga Teacher.

And, shortly after, feeling a deep calling to share the life-changing benefits of yoga with the women I supported during pregnancy and motherhood, I went on to train as a Pregnancy Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher and a Postnatal Yoga Teacher.

I am deeply passionate about the unequalled safety of practising yoga during pregnancy and the many benefits it brings to women, not only during pregnancy, but through their labour and birth, and into their life after the birth of their baby.

Similarly, I see Postnatal Yoga as a deeply respectful way in which to gently nurture and strengthen the body after birth. When combined with Baby Yoga, the physical, emotional and social benefits of yoga for Mum and Baby are integrated and provide, at the same time, an opportunity to deepen their bond.

My general Dru Yoga classes offer a graceful and potent form of yoga, suitable for all bodies and abilities. We work on the body, mind and soul by releasing tension, improving strength and flexibility, building a heightened feeling of positivity, and deeply relaxing and rejuvenating your whole being in an environment that is free from strain and competition.

‘Dru’ means ‘still point’ in Sanskrit and this is just what I felt when I first practised it: stillness. With its foundations rooted in ancient tradition, Dru’s ability to keep the body, mind and soul healthy and in balance has stood the test of time.
